Ms Chanthal Ronald
Ms Chanthal Ronald has been lecturing Taxation for two decades. She holds a bachelors and a master’s degree in Commerce,
as well as, a post graduate diploma in Tertiary Education. Prior to joining the academic world, Chanthal worked in the private sector and public sector.Whilst working at the South African Revenue Services, Chanthal noticed that taxpayer errors, arose mostly due lack of knowledge rather than the intention to defraud. Working at the Durban University of Technology has given Chanthal the ideal opportunity to help close that knowledge gap. On a personal level, Chanthal is a Christian, a wife and mother.

Ms Phumzile Xulu
Ms Phumzile Xulu is an Engagement Practitioner at the Durban University of Technology [DUT]. Since 2015, Phumzile has served as a Member of the Advisory Committee for the South African Law Reform Commission on Project 143: Extending Maternity and Paternity Benefits to Self-
employed people, appointed by the Minister of Justice and Correctional Services. Phumzile has worked with local and international organizations to support people in informal employment, and vulnerable communities faced with the HIV/ AIDS epidemic and educates communities on democracy and human rights. She is a Board Member of the LINK FUND, the Institute for Professional Legal Training [IPLT], eThekwini City People, and a Trustee on the Board of Trustees of the Association of University Legal Aid Institutions [AULAI] Trust. She obtained a Master of Laws from the University of KwaZulu-Natal [UKZN]. Phumzile is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society which recognizes academic excellence.
