Amir and Anouk are returning home after their first holiday and road trip together. As Anouk is driving and Amir ponders his prospects, they share an intimacy and promises for the future with each other. The not entirely innocent journey is interrupted when they are stopped in a police roadblock. Amir from Aleppo struggles with the bureaucracy of the situation and fears the repercussions. Will their shared intimacy withstand the confrontation? Are they able to keep their loyalty to each other or is the risk of punishment and loss of reputation too much to withstand.
Yoná is an artist. An artist who works in the medium of hair but an artist, nonetheless. In a vibrant and intimate setting, she challenges beauty clichés, exploring self-esteem in an engaging artistic journey. With each colour, cut and curl she unveils a bold multiplicity of characters. Their diversity of identity and sexual orientation are not always easily accepted in the capital of Goiás. Yoná’s mother’s acceptance of both her and her girlfriend embolden her to thrive and encourage a cultural effervescence and the expression of unique style expressed by each of her clients who soon become friends.
When a twelve-year-old boy visits his friend, the boys embark upon some ordinary explorations. Their mischievous adventures begin innocently enough, and they explore the settlement of Fisantekraal through the enquiring eyes of children. They gain insights into people’s lives and everyday existence. We are given a glimpse of an ordinary day in Fisantekraal. As they dart through the lanes their curiosity compels them to become bolder, their decisions are riskier, and the day is less ordinary. Their explorations become more inquisitive and daring until their final dangerous discovery.
