The Film Fund Committee approved 7 projects, resulting in a shortfall of 1 project towards the annual target. This was because other submissions were non-compliant.
Number of temporary jobs created through KZNFC film fund
Explanation of Actual Achievement
The set target was not only met but also exceeded as there were 394 apportioned jobs created and 431 unapportioned jobs created. The output for the financial year has surpassed that of all previous years, which is a clear indication that the recording and validation processes for the indicator have significantly improved over the years.
Number of co-productions within the African continent
Explanation of Actual Achievement
The target was not met, as there were not enough submissions received for consideration. However, the Business Unit is encouraging the industry to consider co-productions within this category, so that local productions can find expression in the continent and vice versa.
