Explanation of Actual Achievement
The target was not met partly because of budget cuts. Additionally, there was a notable underachievement in sub-targets for individuals with disabilities and women, as there were not enough eligible applications received from these groups. To address the unmet target for women and individuals with disabilities, the Business Unit will implement targeted interventions to help meet the targets.
Number of productions awarded funding through KZNFC film fund
Explanation of Actual Achievement
During the last financial year, three film productions were granted funding, exceeding the set target. The Business Unit went beyond its defined goal by providing funds to filmmakers outside of the commonly supported Municipal Districts. The funds were made available by cancelled projects from previous years. However, the target for the 2023/24 was significantly reduced compared to the 2022/23 financial year target, due to budget constraints.
Number of isiZulu Made - for TV movies awarded funding in production
Explanation of Actual Achievement
The entity achieved its target of supporting two isiZulu Made for TV movies, that promote the province’s culture and heritage.
