DESIGN THINKING
WORKSHOP
Our Business Development Officer, Ms. Nonkosi Nyawose, ran a design thinking workshop for final- year Environmental Health Studies students. The workshop fueled and instilled an entrepreneurial spirit in the students, who identified problems they face in their lives and brainstormed solutions that could be turned into businesses. They worked in groups to achieve this, and in the end, they presented solutions that could easily be turned into businesses.
   LET’S TALK FINANCE
SESSION
CSERI held a Let’s Talk Finance session on the 25th of August 2023 for the main incubation group, powered by the UK South Africa Tech Hub-Launch league. The session focused on managing finances day-to-day, raising capital, tax planning, and risk management. The main incubation group is made up of entrepreneurs who had more than 2 employees and a sustainable turnover. These entrepreneurs owned different businesses across all sectors in Durban.
 FOOD TECHNOLOGY LAB VISIT
The Centre facilitated a site visit for entrepreneurs in the food industry to visit the Food Technology Lab. The aim of the visit was to give entrepreneurs the practical experience of processing food, learn about the latest trends and practices in food processing, and learn from an expert in food and technology, Mr. Vee Dilrajh. Mr. Dilrajh welcomed all the entrepreneurs and gave them an overview of the lab. He then led them through a tour of the lab, where they saw the different equipment and machinery used in food processing. He also explained the different steps involved in food processing, from safety and sanitation to packaging and labeling
