Counseling and Pastoral Care Min.





         The Counseling Ministry exists to provide Christian Counseling, Pastoral Care, and a wide range of ministry support fo-
         cusing on improving and maintaining a healthy physical, emotionally sound, and spiritually based Christian lifestyle. This
         ministry incorporates Divorce Care for adults and children, Prison Ministry, Senior Adult Ministry, and First Time Visitors
         Fellowship.

         We are thankful that our God continue to do wonders even in the midst of Covid. Our ministries are
         slowly returning to normal after the pandemic. God has truly moved in mysterious ways his wonders
         to perform. Below is an account of our ministry activities during the past year.


         Prison Ministry: Lay Leader: Rev. Anthony Wilkins

         The team resumed visiting the prisons weekly in person in the Fall of 2021.

         Counseling: Conducted 525 sessions of counseling via phone, zoom and in person

         Pastoral Care:

         •  Made 70 home/hospital visits  |  Officiated 8 weddings  |  Issued 10 Premarital Certificates

         •  Officiated and attended 16 funerals  |  Provided 9 Repass meals | 3 Baby Dedications

         GriefShare: Lay Leaders: Toni Kincaid, Linda Foreman and Roger Walton

         •  Group met in Fall and Spring via zoom on Sundays at noon | Group averaged 10 in attendance


         Divorce Care: Neacy Turner and Anita Moss

         •  Group met on Sundays via zoom at noon.

         •  The group met in Fall and Spring averaging 7 in attendance | Ended the Fall Semester with a
            Christmas Fellowship in room 160.

         •  We had a Farewell Fellowship for Anita Moss on August 14 at Spear time Lanes in Arlington.

         Senior Adults Ministry: Lay Leader: Earnestine Shealey


            Thanksgiving Fellowship was held on November 21, 2021
            Christmas Fellowship was held on December 21, 2021
            Valentine’s Fellowship was help on February 11, 2022

            Easter Prayer Breakfast was held on Holy Thursday
            Annual Picnic was Held on May 22, 2022

            Celebrated Juneteenth and July 4
            Sandra Green and Gwen Newsome did presentation on the Wealth Gap in April 2022
            Currently planning for trip to Antigua in June 2023
