Education Ministry

The Education Ministry serves the members of Cornerstone and the community in the areas of Sun-
day Morning School, the University of Transformation, Vacation Bible School, and the First Friends
ministry. The Minister of Education is responsible for each of these ministries.

The total enrollment for 2021-22 was 1085. That total includes 309 youth and children and 776

adults. The average weekly attendance from October 2021 to August 2022 was 299. The average
attendance for youth and children was 45. The adult and youth classes continued to hold class in per-

son and on Zoom for the entire year. In June of 2022, the children moved to in-person only. We hope
to have an online group started in the fall. To aid in family Bible discussions, the adults, youth, and
children study from the Explore the Bible series, while the young adults use the Bible Studies for Life

         series.

In the fall of 2021 we moved from having a variety of class offerings and adapted a rotation of men
and women studies on Wednesday nights. Pastor McKissic led the men in special topics and panel

discussions with the assistance of Dawud Mabon and Keith Solis. Dr. Tim Fuller provided biblical re-
search for many of the discussions. Sister McKissic led the women through a study of biblical wom-

anhood in addition to some current topics on education, emotional and physical health, and sex
trafficking, and organizing the home. Some of her special guests included First Ladies Regenia Crane
and Keeya Vawar, Dean Peggy Smith and Dr. Patricia Wilson. The Cornerstone staff women shared a

panel of discussing their roles and giving advice to women in the church community. Additional stud-
ies were offered on Sundays, Mondays and Saturdays presented by Minister Pat Ashley, Dawud Ma-

bon, Rosie Pea and First Lady Vera McKissic.

We were back in person for VBS 2022. The Spark Studio was a great success that ended with a show-
case of talent on the last night of VBS. The adult VBS class was blessed by the teaching of Pastor

Malone of Milwaukee. The enrollment for Vacation Bible School was 110 kids/youth and 150 adults.
The average attendance for kids/youth was 463 and 425 for adults.

                                                                             Ministry Leader: Min. Vera McKissic
