son
The Freshman Basketball Team, under the direction of Coach Gary Barnaba, used what is essentially thought of as a learning season to show stunning talent and an ex­ tremely bright future. Their 11-3 re­ cord was only a slight indication of their performance this year.
Forwards Chris Nelson and Bob Campbell proved strong in the back court while guards Shawn Jones and Chris Mielnicki demonstrated superb ball handling ability and lightning quick speed. The team finished the year with seven straight wins. Impressive victories over the Warriors of Liver­ pool and the Falcons of Fowler im­ proved the teams standings. An overtime over Cicero-North Syra­ cuse further expressed the quality of the young squad.
The results of the hours of prac­ tice paid off as the Freshman Bas­ ketball team finished in second place in the Onondoga High School League only to Henniger.
