----- J V Soccer Squad ------- Sees Successful Season
Cries of "we’re #1" seemed to rumble through the locker room at the close of the impressive fall season of the JV Soccer Squad. League play saw the team finish with a satifying 10-0-2. First year Coach Rotunno led the team to its best record in memory. ForwardJohn Petrus led the team with over ten goals and three assists. Other contributers included Sweeper back Mike Wood in addition to Ffalfbacks Tony Dwyer and John Fritelli.
The season opened on an up-note with a split decision against two undefeated non-league opponents at the Rome Invitational Tourna ment. Demonstrating a fine team effort, the squad saw some out standing performances byJohn Petrus and Halfback Dave Shana han. Coach Rotunno said "He could always be counted on to do what had to be done.”
The selection of Frosh player Greg Quadrini for Most Improved Player status suggests a super season is in store next fall.
