 Steppin' Out
After so many weeks in the planning, the junior
prom finally arrived last April 24. A lot of prep
aration went into the premiere formal event for
most juniors. And all of the anxiety that went into
it — finding a date, buying a dress or renting a
tuxedo, and renting a limousine — was over. It
was finally the night to enjoy it all. It was the
night to stay out all night long, to dance your
hardest, and to party with all of your closest
friends. With the prom being most of the juniors'
first formal event, it was hard to keep the excite
ment down. It was the only topic of conversation
for months before.
Then, the night arrived. We slipped into our
special dress and high heels or our tuxedo and
waited for our date and limousine to arrive. Then,
it was picture time. Once we had taken the thou
sandth picture, we were ready to embark on a
night to remember. We slow danced, fast danced,
and even did the chicken dance!! We laughed,
we relaxed, and we enjoyed the moment. After
the DJ played the last song, "Tears in Heaven",
everyone departed for various parties and after
prom events. All of that preparation, and the night
went by so fast! It was our night — our junior
prom: a night to remember and cherish.
Lending a touch of class to the affair!
