Young
I We Back the GOP his past November, Republicans were
devastated when President George Bush
Tlost his reelection battle to Governor Bill
Clinton of Arkansas, a liberal Democrat. CBA,
however, turned defeat into victory with the
formation of the first ever CBA Young Repub
lican Party.
During the hotly contested election in which nei
ther candidate seemed to get the upper hand,
CBA held two school elections. The first was
run by the Channel I news network. In this elec
tion President Bush won solidly at CBA. The
second election was a school-vote only in which
students used voting machines. In this. Bush also
won overwhelmingly.
Following the election Jon Micale and fellow
student Republicans worked to keep the hope
for better government alive with the formation
of the Young Republicans group. The organi
zation drew members quickly and plans to be
an active club at CBA.

George Bush.
