An old proverb was once again proved by the Cross Country team- hard work and perseverance pay off. Just ask any member of Coach William Howell’s Cross Country squad if the hours of sweat and pain were worth it, and you will un­ doubtedly hear a resounding “ yes.” The pay-off was a remark­ able seven and one dual-meet re­ cord, an excellent team showing at Van Cortland Park in New York City and numerous personal best times. Even that one loss was a
close one to Henniger, the tenth- ranked Cross Country squad in the state.
