2023 ECA Annual Membership Meeting

        The meeting was called to order by Commodore Bud Brown at 7:03 PM.

        Commodore’s Report – Bud Brown
        The Commodore welcomed everyone to the ECA 2023 Annual Meeting,
        thanked all those in attendance, and discussed the future of the world's
        best family daysailer. The Commodore challenged everyone to bring
        more people, especially younger folks, out to sail on an Ensign.

        Reading of the minutes
        The minutes of the 2022 Annual Membership meeting were approved
        and are available on the Class website under Documents.

        Roll Call of Fleets
        Twenty fleets were present: 2, 3, 5, 8, 10, 17, 21, 23, 29, 30, 34, 35, 43,
        51, 57, 63, 69, 70, 72, 73.  Sixty-three ECA members were in
        attendance.  Past Commodores in attendance – Pete Kogut, Zeke
        Durica, Elizabeth Brincklow, John Cutler, Mike LaHaye, Ward Woodruff
        and Eric Jones.

                       Officer and Vice Commodore Reports

        Below are some of the key points and discussion from the respective
        committees and governing board members.  Please refer to the Class
        website, Documents section, for the full written reports.

        Treasurer’s Report – Kay Snider
        The Class’s 2022 ending balance was $102,469 which was $4,278
        above the beginning balance of $98,192.   The Governing Board has
        approved a $750 expense to reimburse Region II/III members to fully
        cover the cost of re-creating the Region II/III Regional Championship
        trophy which was lost in a boat yard fire in Mattapoisett, MA.
        Vice Commodore Publicity – Anna Gorbold
        Anna was unable to attend.
        Vice Commodore Rules – Steven Heinzelman
        Steve gave a recap of the Rules Committee’s work.  Eric recommended
        the Rules committee look at how Zoom may affect Rules Committee
        decisions.  Nick Lubar recommended the committee look at National and
        Regional course requirements based on time.  The current rules are
        based on distance.
