Fleet 76 Mattapoisett, Massachusetts
Buzzard’s Bay, 2005
Fleet Captain: Stephen Clark Secretary: Rick Warren
Another great year of Ensign Racing in Mattapoisett, although we lost four
Tuesday Night Events due to storm like conditions. The lack of not having a
Clubhouse didn’t slow us down one bit. We convened at our local watering
hole to review the nights races and award the evening’s winners with their
glasses.
The construction of our new Clubhouse, which will be a part of the new
Mattapoisett Boatyard is progressing nicely, however it probably won’t be
ready for us by this Spring. We hope to christen it by the end of next
summer.
We had a definite Overall Summer Winner this past year, and it wasn’t the
Crew from One Love. The Crew of Black Ice took the honors this past
summer by winning all three summer series. Phil Warren as Skipper, his
two sons Dan and Tim, Dan’s wife Amy, and their alternate was Tim’s wife
Jordan. So yes, a real family affair. Quick side note: Black Ice is also the
loudest Ensign in the Fleet. It must be a Family theme. We are working on
getting them down to next year’s Regionals in Newport.
We had 7 Ensigns competing this past summer and hope to add a few
more next summer.

We are all looking forward to next summer.
