Tags and Swipes, Fall 2018
Valley Chords Chorus
The Valley Chords have had an eventful and regrouping summer singing as a VLQ as we prepare to
start working with a new director in September. Prior to losing some of our members to summer
vacations, we were able to squeeze in a performance at the Old Timer’s Fair in Etna, NH and The
National Anthem at a Nighthawks minor league baseball game right in our home town of White River
Junction, VT. Unfortunately a second opportunity to open the Nighthawks game in July was cancelled
due to rain. We welcomed several visitors and are hopeful that we will get them and others as new
members when we have an Open House this fall and welcome back our members from their summer
hiatus.
We rehearsed all summer and benefitted from periodic coaching with Laura Fraser. Our numbers were
small but we weathered missing members, health issues, kids going off to College, lost jobs, gained jobs
and appreciated the sisterhood that Sweet Adelines has promoted.
We are excited to begin singing under the direction of Carmen Wilmot as she works toward her director
certification beginning in September.
We’re looking forward to connecting with many of you at Fall Regional!
