Sweetapolita (sweetapolita.com) are special occasion worthy, but
                spendy.

Instant ClearJel is found online at KingArthur Flour.com and other
                places. It keeps for years.

The recipes in this book use Diamond Crystal kosher salt. I find it at
my grocery store, restaurant supply stores, and Costco. If using
Morton’s kosher salt, cut back just a little as it’s heavier by weight.

Nuts and dried fruit from Nuts.com are so delicious and fresh, I’m
converted to ordering online. When I don’t have the time to order, I
think the fruits and nuts at Trader Joe’s are superior to most of the
other stores. They’re fresher and available in reasonably sized

                packages.

Jarred spices purchased at the grocery store can be old and dusty. I
order spices, chile peppers, salts, and vanilla from Penzeys

                (penzeys.com).

Fresh apricots delivered from Frog Hollow Farm (froghollow.com)
are indulgent, yes, but so delicious. Frog Hollow also grows beautiful

                peaches and plums.

Meyer lemons are a weakness of mine. Lemon Ladies Orchard
(lemonladies.com) will ship Meyer lemons in season. The lemons

are big and juicy and wonderful and so pretty, I always fill a bowl with
them and just look at their cheery yellow. Make and freeze lemon
curd (here) for emergency lemon meringue pies.
