Vascular Shunt


               In cases of extensive amputations, as shown below, rapid revascularization may sometimes
               be required prior to performing any additional procedures, such as osteosynthesis or
               definitive vascular suturing. A vascular shunt using a catheter is placed to promptly restore
               blood flow.
