The suggested staging in following section should be considered adaptable. We have costed the development in
approximately $200,000 blocks to make it attractive to high level builders and reduce mobilisation costs. Works
completed by volunteers and local builders could be conducted on a more frequent basis. Costing are approximate
only, appropriate for sourcing funding.
Inflation rates were provided by the SDC finance department Feb 2022.
Ultimately the staging time scales will be dictated by availability of funds and volunteer resource.
Unless otherwise stated, all trails should be considered one direction.
In conclusion of each stage we recommend the trust assess the challenges and impacts of the
development and look to answer questions such as;
• Is recreational uptake high?
• Are visitor numbers increasing?
• Who is using the trails?
• What kind of trails do people want more of?
• Are the soils holding up well, is the trail sustainable in terms of funding/ volunteer time?
• Is the volunteer support strong?
