Happy Holidays

and New Year!

Dear Friends,

With loving but heavy hearts, we pay tribute to each person impacted by the
fires that devastated our region in November. We offer these performances as an
opportunity to foster a sense of community, honor first responders and provide
musical light in this time of distress.
Winter holidays are some of the most treasured aspects of family traditions,
personal reflection and aspiration for the future. We sing, we dance. We recite,
we gather.
Our theme, “Holidays of Light,” is inspired by the winter solstice, from which,
over centuries, almost all our current prominent holidays find their roots. We
hope you enjoy music that is directly tied to the theme of light, and holiday-
themed tunes that will bring a shining light into your being as we head toward
winter’s shortest days. Cultures around the world saw this moment as one of
inspiration however, signaling the revival of longer days ahead.

We are also excited to be screening the Oscar -nominated film, The Snowman,
during these performances. The imagery and story are so touching, and the
music perfectly captures its spirit.

We are also proud to honor longtime supporters Cynthia and Paul Idell and the
amazing volunteer group, the New West Symphony League, a fundraising and
friendraising arm of the New West Symphony!
