KEY CRITICAL AREAS OF CONCERN:

 All pumps should be flushed out with cleaning product to prevent dry ink flakes from causing
damaged to the cylinder or anilox
 All ink systems should have filters in place to prevent damage to the diaphragms. This is vital
on all type of ink pumps.
 Filters must have magnets to remove any metal filing from doctor blade wear.

     OPPOSITION PRODUCTS:

 Kelva ink pumps. There are knock off pumps that look alike coming out of China on most of
the Chinese corrugated machines. Some of the parts are interchangeable like diagrams.
 Conequip sell Cemp centrifugal pumps and Sarepco sell Gray Mill. We also have access to
Cemp pumps but they last a long time and seldom need maintenance.
 Double diaphragm pumps are available from a host of companies like Yamada, Aro, Wilden
 Sarepco are the agents for Gray Mill peristaltic pumps.

     ADVANTAGES OF PRODUCT:
 Impeller pumps are durable and last for a long time. They are inexpensive to run.
 Single diaphragms pumps are the lowest cost to maintain and the diaphragms do last a long
            time.
 Double diaphragms are more efficient when pumping ink into larger chamber blade units and
are more efficient in getting enough in to the chamber blade unit.
 Peristaltic pumps are more suited where products are shear sensitive

     DISADVANTAGES OF PRODUCT:

 Kelva single diaphragm are noisy and the pulsing of the ink into the chamber blade unit can
be problematic. There are ways to overcome this with having and by pass fitted to the pump.
With this you can run the pump faster and reduce the noise levels. The operator needs to
control the feed into the chamber blade unit.
 Diaphragms for doubles side pumps are moulded. They tend to perish on the edges from all
            the movement to and fro.
 With peristaltic pump with the movement of the arms that rotate the neoprene/silicone tube
tends to stretch and become longer. Keeping this in mind the operator needs to carry stock
            of the tubing.

     KEY SELLING POINTS:

 Kelva ink pumps are cost effective and cheap to maintain
 Yamada pumps are good value for money. The pumps perform well with all ink types
 Peristaltic pumps don’t cause foam and very cost effective and has a switch that can rotate
            the flow.
 This allows for ink recovery that is still trapped in the pipes and chamber blade unit
