HOW DOES IT WORK?
The QUIKWASH system is supplied in a kit form. The kit consist of one Onyx plastic wash up blade and one Aluminium
bracket. The operator needs to remove the old blade and clean the wash up tray. This needs to be clean from all dried ink
particals. If the tray is not clean the clamp and blade will not fit properly, causeing the blade to warp.
INSTALLING THE CLAMP
Remove the existing bolts, wash up blade and clamp from the tray;
Attach the QuikWash clamp with the side that has the bump-out on the bottom facing the tray;
Tighten the clamp slightly with the new bolts supplied with the kit.
INSTALLING THE BLADE
Clean the surface that the blade will rest on and insert the blade with the bevel facing up and away from the roller;
The blade will rest on top of the bolts;
Press firmly against the back of the tray and tighten the blade clamp from the centre moving to the edged;
Do not over tighten the clamps or the blade may warp;

Plastic Wash-Up Blades
The benefits of the QuikWash System are derived from the use of a plastic wash-up blade. Using a plastic wash-up blade
to improve the quality of wash-ups is a concept that has already been proven in the industry; several major press
manufacturers including KBA, Komori, Heidelberg, Man Roland and Muller Martini are currently installing plastic blades in
new machines. The QuikWash System allows printers to upgrade their existing press equipment to get the same benefits
without making a large capital investment.
There are quite a few of the new Litho press that already have plastic wash up blades. The blades that are supplied with
these machines are Plasteel and are white in colour. The Onyx blade is black and will outperform the Plasteel blade.
