                            embers of the committee represented Bethel
                            as a partner on the Steering Committee of
                            the Community Remembrance Project.
           Working with the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI) in Montgomery,
           Alabama,  this  inter-faith,  inter-racial  and  inter-generational
           group is moving forward through community engagement to
           memorialize  the  African  American  victims  of  Leon  County
           lynchings,  and  leading  services  of  repentance,  reconciliation
           and healing.


           Special thanks to the outstanding African American History
           Committee for its steadfast commitment to providing oppor-
           tunities  for  the  congregation  enhance  our  knowledge  and
           appreciation  of  African  American  History.    Members  in-
           clude  Dorothy  Allen,  Rod  Allen,  Ken  Austin  (Chair)
           Genyne Boston, Chancey Ford, Mamie Jones, Alice Mathis
           (Co-chair), Ric Mathis, Claudia Miles,
           Lillian Tate and Abbie Wright.
