LOWER JUNIOR HISTORY
Y3/4 – 7-9 YEAR OLDS
History is introduced as ‘His Story’, God’s plan for the world through the ages.
God’s dealings through history show us more of his character and attributes. It
also reveals the response of individuals and nations to God’s will. We can learn
much from the study of people, episodes, developments and even mistakes from
the past. It is important to encourage a sense of gratitude in the children for
the people and the inventions which have enhanced their lives, but to train them
in being discerning so as to learn from the wrong doings in history. To
encourage the children to view history with a Christian worldview is vitally
important.
Truths to Teach
1. To appreciate that God is sovereign over the past, the present and the
future
