2. To compare the Roman Empire with the Kingdom of God.
3. To begin to develop knowledge of chronology, employing words/phrases
that are associated with the passage of time.
4. To teach the pupils how to discover about the past using a range of
information sources.
5. To learn to distinguish between fact and opinion but also to understand
that due to lack of evidence assumptions have to be made.
6. To select from their historical knowledge and communicate it in a range
of ways such as writing, talking, artistic presentation, using ICT.
7. To learn about the effects of the Roman Conquest and the occupation of
Britain.
8. To visit local sites and museums and to act out other features of life in
the Roman world.
9. To show the many cross-curricular links with other subjects.
