               Find the value for n which makes each equation true.

               a  38- n = 18       b  n- 54=100          c  n +46=97
               d  55+ n =82        e  71  - n = 23       f  n +27 =45


                  If you can put problems in  equation form,  it can help you solve them.
                  For example, Joe had 50p, spent some of it and had 14p left.

                  You  might choose s to represent the amount he spent.
                  The equation would be 50- S =  14.
                  The answer would be s = 36,  so Joe spent 36p.
