        Truth to Teach (Source)

God has created and controls winds. He is mightier than the strongest gale, for He made winds.

The real yet invisible quality of wind is a reflection of the Spirit of God too.

        Learning for Life (Fulfilment)

For the children to appreciate the power of God and want to worship Him.

        Way to Work (Means)

        1. Show an empty box, e.g. a box of chocolates or a shoe box.
What do you think is in my box?
Give to a child to feel. Is it heavy? Does it rattle?  Air

        2. Is there air everywhere in our classroom? Under the desk? At the ceiling? In the corner?
Is the air in the box the same as the air in the classroom? Or outside?

        3. If possible go outside. Establish temperature difference; air is moving; it is fresher. Observe
effects of the air if it is causing leaves to move, smoke to move, etc. I allow the children to
pass comment, then question further, or seize on what they have shared so all children
               benefit from their knowledge.

        4. Back inside again. Establish air is often moving. What do we call moving air? (Wind) When
it is moving very strongly what is it called? (Gale, hurricane, storm) Can you see it moving?
(You see the effects of the wind, but air and wind are invisible. This is a reflection of Creator
God who is also invisible to us, but very real.)

        5. Read Mark 4: 35-41. Help children to appreciate the power of Jesus in calming the storm.

An experiment to try at home or at a later time. Put an empty bottle in a basin of water. Watch
            what happens. Why is this?
