PLENTY OF PRONOUNS
Truth to Teach (Source)
¾ Review Y4 work on pronouns

¾ Every sentence has a noun or a pronoun
¾ Pronouns are singular or plural
¾ Personal pronouns replace the names of people or things
¾ Possessive pronouns are used to indicate belonging
Way to Work (Means)
1. Review previous lessons.
2. Read the following: -
Jesus said, “Jesus is the Good Shepherd. Jesus knows Jesus’ sheep and
Jesus’ sheep know Jesus.”
Discuss the role of a pronoun in replacing nouns to help a sentence flow
easily. Read out the following asking the children to identify the pronouns.
Jesus said, “I am the Good Shepherd. I know my sheep and they know
me.”
3. Hand around a bag of pronouns for the children to put into sentences. In a
large class, this could be done in pairs (see separate sheet).
