Seeing percentages

Per cent means 'out of a hundred'.
The symbol for per cent is %
If 20 parts out of 100 are coloured
it is written as 20% coloured.

For each shape, write the percentage coloured green.

For each shape in 1 , write the percentage coloured purple.

Colour the grids on RM 36 like this:

a Grid 1 b Grid 2 c Grid 3 d Grid 4
10% orange 20% red 50% orange 70% blue
30% blue 40% green 50% purple 10% red

4 Underneath each grid on RM36, write the percentage not coloured.

For each of these shapes, write the percentage which is blue.

Now write each amount coloured blue as a fraction.
