4.3 International collaborations/outreach
Through our colleagues at the Unisa Ethiopia Learning Centre Library (ELCL), partnerships with local institutions were pursued to enhance access to information resources by our students in the Region. In Ethiopia, 638 students are already using local libraries to obtain the information resources they need for their studies and research. In addition to a partnership with the University of Addis Ababa, outreach visits were made by the Acting Executive Director: LIS and Deputy Director: Regional Libraries to the Addis Ababa Science and Technology University, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and the African Union Commission to discuss the renewal of current agreements and ways to strengthen the partnership with Unisa LIS.
