8 STAFF ACHIEVEMENTS
LIS staff remain a critical resource to enable LIS resources and services to support the Unisa objectives and activities for teaching and learning, research and community engagement. The following section summarises the LIS staff achievements, publications and development activities during 2023.
8.1 Formal qualifications
• Dr TV Dube obtained her PhD in Information Science. Her thesis is entitled “The provision of academic library services and resources to remote clients during the COVID-19 pandemic in the Gauteng province, South Africa”.
• Dr MW Rammutloa obtained her PhD in Information Science on 21 July 2023. Her thesis is entitled “Positioning citizen science in university libraries in South Africa”.
• Mr J Sindane obtained his Bachelor of Arts Honours in Media Studies.
• Ms K Makena obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science.
