Model 905-14 Volumetric Feeder
Acrison’s Model 905-14 Volumetric Feeder
has been specifically designed to meter
strand-type materials ( e.g., fiberglass),
even when such products contain a small
percentage of moisture.
Features/Benefits
• The Model 905-14 Feeder will accurately and reliably meter a vari-
ety of strand-type materials, typically having lengths not exceeding
0.75 inches.
• The metering conveyor belt rollers are self-cleaning; the belt operates
at a very slow speed.
• Directly connected heavy-duty, sub-fractional horsepower gear-
motors power each of the feeder’s functioning rotating mechanisms
(metering conveyor belt, pile depth leveling drums, product dis-
charge disperser, and the rotating belt wiper). All gearmotor drives
are permanently lubricated.
• The Model 905-14 Feeder is furnished completely assembled. It is
self-emptying, easy to clean, simple to operate, silent when oper-
ating, and requires very little maintenance.
Specifications
• The Model 905-14 Feeder is powered by 4 sub-fractional horse-
power, totally enclosed (TENV) gearmotors suitable for washdown
(IP-65). The two gearmotors for the metering conveyor belt and pile
depth leveling drums are variable speed; the other two gearmotors
(for the rotating belt wiper and product discharge disperser) normally
operate at a constant speed.
• Output feed rates range from 25 to 1400 pounds per hour, typically
for a strand-type product weighing between 30 and 55 pounds per
cubic foot.
• The entire structure of the metering conveyor belt assembly is
manufactured in 304 stainless steel, as is the feeder’s supply
hopper. The multi-ply metering conveyor belt is constructed of
durable white Hycar.
• As standard, the Model 905-14 Feeder is designed with an integral 5
cubic foot supply hopper.
• Volumetric metering accuracies for strand-type materials up to
approximately 0.75 inches in length typically range between – + 2 to 5
percent (error), based on a given number of consecutive one-
minute samples. Metering accuracy is dependent upon material
characteristics (e.g., the length of the strands, coatings on the
strands, moisture content, etc.).
• Power requirement is 230/3/60.
