Pivik Elementary students raised more than $6,600 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society! Most of the money came in the form of coin donations from Pivik Elemen- tary students—proof that the loose change in our pockets and furniture can make a difference! Students submitted their dona- tions during the month of March and family members were able to make donations online as well.
Pivik chose the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as their fundraiser because it has positively impacted the lives of children everywhere. This year, Pivik donated the monies collected in honor of Emerson Hendry, a 5th grade student at Holiday Park Elementary.
The names of all the children who donated were entered into a drawing and the three winners of the drawing were allowed to "pie" Officer Craig Harnish as a reward for their hard work and fundraising efforts. Dou- ble-click the image above to see more!

Holiday Park Elementary has launched its student-run business, HP Makers Company! Their goal is to learn to make and produce real world and high-quality products like mugs, bags, and keychains (with the option to customize). All of the profits from the sales will go into buy- ing more supplies, educational events, and donation to charities, such as the Arthritis Foundation.
The students of HP Makers Company have been learning how to cooperate in large groups to organize the work and make the decisions required to run a stu- dent business. According to Dr. Sciullo, Principal, “The HP Makers Company brings the 10,000-foot ideas to ground level. This student group dreams big and makes ideas a reality. We are impressed with this student first, stu- dent-lead business.”
