Pacific. It is designed for sport administrators and managers who have completed
the OSEP Sport in Communities Training Program.
Purpose of this guide
The purpose of this guide is to help those who want to be a sport administrator for
clubs or federations. It includes information on the OSEP, the course structure, all
the course content, activities and assessment tasks.
OSEP overview
The OSEP has been developed by the Australian Sports Commission (ASC), the
Olympic Sports Federations of Oceania (OSFO) and the Oceania National Olympic
Committees (ONOC). The OSEP provides opportunities for participation in quality,
specific and structured sport education.
The OSEP aims to improve the practical skills of coaches, officials and
administrators. It is made up of a number of competency based training programs
with a strong emphasis on practical activities and learning to provide the
foundation for the development of coaches, officials and administrators.
These programs have been designed to provide a regional approach to sport
education in the Pacific by developing flexible and relevant training in the areas
of coaching, officiating, administration and assessor/presenter training. OSEP
programs can also provide the foundation to assist sports to develop specific
courses.
The OSEP has been developed to foster community ownership and to take into
account the specific needs and situations of coaches, officials and administrators
who are working in remote communities.
