What is Foster Care?
Foster care is a temporary living arrangement for
children ages 0-17 who have experienced abuse
or neglect. Children are placed in licensed foster
homes if a relative is unable to care for them until
their family can provide the healthy environment
they need.
Children in foster care continue building
relationships with their parents through visits,
phone calls, and letters facilitated by Samaritas.
Samaritas serves children and families in Detroit,
Troy, Port Huron, Ann Arbor, Flint, Saginaw,
Grand Rapids, Muskegon, Jackson, Lansing, and
Kalamazoo.
