it when 'I' need it.”
In a condition that people answered as no for the second question, the other fifth
question was, “What would you buy if you are able to go shopping?”. For this
question, 65% among Singaporeans, 65.2% among Koreans, and 62.5% among
other global countries answered as “Daily necessity”, 20% among Singaporeans,
26.1% among Koreans, and 37.5% among global countries answered as “Things
that is related to your hobby (e.g.nintendo switch or you newly created Netflix
account)”.
In a condition that people answered as no for the second question, the other sixth
question was, “Will you buy more or the same or less amount of this item,
compared to the usual quantity that you buy?”. For this question, 20% among
Singaporeans, 17.4% among Koreans, and 25% among other global countries
answered as “more”, 70% among Singaporeans, 82.6% among Koreans, and 75%
among global countries answered as “same”, 10% among Singaporeans, no one
from Korea and other global countries answered as “less”.
4. Discussions
Our groups have assumed that people adopt the herd mentality during an
epidemic, and begin to mimic actions of others, thus resulting in widespread
common behaviours. The thesis is drawn out based on the reasoning from the herd
mentality, the societies actions towards the covid 19 and the differences of people’s
behaviour in other pandemic cases. According to the results which shows that
people from global countries are most likely feeling quite anxious about the present
pandemic, connected to the mimic action such as stockpiling of foods and daily
