necessities, our thesis corresponds approximately to the results. Moreover, we

could find out that Singaporeans were more anxious than other countries.

5. Conclusion

Through our research project, we learned about the herd mentality and the

relationship of the herd mentality with the current pandemic, COVID-19. We

concentrated on the people’s behavior when this kind of pandemic emerged,

mostly at the stockpiling, one of the social norms occurred due to the COVID-19.

We could find out that people from Singapore, Korea, and other global countries

are mostly feeling quite anxious about the present pandemic, connected to the

stockpiling of food and daily necessities. From the results, we can see that more

than half of the people have done the stockpiling after the circuit breaker period.

From here, we can conclude that people’s anxiety is related to stockpiling and

affects most people.

According to the investigation results, Singaporeans were more anxious than other
countries among Korea, Singapore, and many other countries. Also, Singaporeans

stockpiling more than other countries.
