2018 Bukit Tinggi
Friendship Day
On 7th September 2018, the Grade5 students from SKIS, visited the German European School Singapore for Bukit Tinggi Friendship Day 2018.
Other schools that participated were Hollandse School Limited, Swiss School in Singapore and Chatsworth International School. The students
took part in a variety of activities which showcased the essence and culture of the respective schools. Our school, SKIS, presented Taekwondo
and taught the students discipline, self-control and how to execute kicks and punches. GESS conducted Pretzel Relay games, which helped
the students get to know one another and build team work. The Holland School gave the students the opportunity to play ‘Korfball’, which
was fun and exciting. Everyone was addicted to the Swiss activity, which was the Chocolate game! Students learnt about the famous Swiss
Winter Parlor game, ‘Schoggispel’ and had fun contesting for a bite of chocolate together at a table. They also played a teambuilding game at
the Chatsworth station which included ice breakers. At lunch, the students were treated to authentic food from the respective schools. Each
school contributed and served a few dishes from their respective cuisines. Seaweed chicken, German sausages, pasta and caramelized sweet
potatoes were a few of the many mouth-watering delicacies served. Everyone ate to their
fill. Our students felt that this experience was unique, fun and fulfilling as they were given
the opportunity to meet students their age from all sorts of backgrounds and cultures. They
thoroughly enjoyed the activities and were buzzing with excitement throughout. A marvellous
experience indeed!
