English Speech Contest 2019

Elementary students took part in the English Speech Contest during the week of 21 June. This event was a
great opportunity for students to show off learned vocabulary, as well as writing, analytical, communication,
and presentation skills. In the build-up, students learned how to expand on a topic, organize their ideas, write
cohesive paragraphs, and finally put it all together to create an organized speech. Topics ranged from thoughts on
endangered animals to coveted superhero powers, with teachers filming each speech before choosing an array of
winners in categories such as Best Overall, Best Speaker, and Most Creative. Congratulations to all the victors!
