VP of Training Update
2020 was an incredibly difficult year for everyone. Now that businesses and courts
are opening back up, it’s time to get back into gear. For many people, moving back
into the workforce means re-evaluating their clients or their caseloads- while others
seek a complete shift in fields altogether. Investigators that were just starting out will
be struggling to regain their momentum, with varying degrees of success.
It is extremely important to network during this time; people that make and maintain
contacts will have an advantage over individuals that rely solely on digital marketing.
In the wake of Covid-19, there is a genuine human need to reach out and connect.
Being able to provide the name and contact information to clients not only means
that you are able to help people by connecting them with investigators that specialize
in a specific field (such as surveillance, intellectual property, or OSINT) but you are
helping a colleague gain some much-needed work. In return, you are providing your
client with a specialist in the field, creating an additional value.
How can you help yourself and your colleagues? Join your state association. And
while you’re at it, look at joining other associations and organizations. Get your name
out there, and network with your colleagues. It’s time to move forward!
If you have an idea for a training topic or know of a speaker that you think people
would like (or if you ARE a speaker,) I would love to hear from you!
We’ve also started a Training Committee, so if you ever wanted to see how speakers
are selected, or if you ever wanted to volunteer and help out,
