D.) Everyone Is Charged!
Now Chico thought all would be ok and he’d be going back
to his dog house as soon as he explained to the Police Dogs that he didn’t have anything to do with this. After all, he didn’t know someone was going to shoot a gun. He was just going along for the ride. WRONG AGAIN!
Chico had no idea that if he is with someone that commits a crime with the Gangster Dawgs, he’ll likely be charged with the same crime they committed. Catastrophe’s criminal acts affected Chico too. Furthermore, if the crime involves a violent act such as this one, Chico will be facing severe consequences.
Chico also learned too late that the Police Dogs will want you to snitch on the other Dawgs involved. This can put you in a horrific situation. The DA can offer you a “plea” deal. (explain what that is) They often offer you a lesser sentence if you snitch, so now what do you do???
D.) What To Do If......
Eventually the Police Dogs came to talk with Chico. They
said they just wanted his side of the story. They told him to just tell the truth and they’ll try to do him a favor.
Beware! Know your rights! You have a right to have an attorney Present, and they must provide you one if you ask. If you are a juvenile your parent or guardian should be with you. If they aren’t you need to request that they be there. You also have a right to remain silent and it is in your best interest to do just that. Never talk to the police without your attorney present.
