legal aid organizations and district judges over the six
week internship. This year’s sponsors include: Entergy,
Irwin Fritchie Urquhart & Moore LLC, LSU Paul M.
Hebert Law Center, and Phelps Dunbar, LLP.
▪ Two new sponsors were confirmed for the 2023 ATJ
Internship program. Butler Snow, LLP will sponsor the
LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Student and the LSBA Civil
Law & Litigation Section will sponsor the Loyola law
student.
▪ This year’s AT Developing Leadership Intern Program
will begin on Monday, May 15th and end on Friday, June
23rd.
o Participate in LSU Apprenticeship Week
The ATJ program participated in the 2019 & 2020 LSU
Apprenticeship week with a course titled Serving the Public and
the Profession. The 2021 LSU Apprenticeship week program
was canceled.
Facilitated course curriculum for 2022 LSU Apprenticeship
Week Program that centered around the spectrum of legal
services available to low income Louisianans. The curriculum
included several practical skills training exercises and client
interview simulations, hands-on training in drafting answers to
legal questions on Free Legal Answers, and completing a draft
SRL petition based on a family law hypothetical. This year’s
program also featured guest speakers: Alainna Mire, Chris
Ralston, Greg Landry, Professor Virginia Listach, and Judge
Lisa Woodruff-White.
