active duty shall be entitled to a dues waiver for any year in which he/she is on
                                 active duty at the time the dues are due.  While the LSBA has no authority with
                                 regard to waivers of MCLE requirements and/or the disciplinary assessment,
                                 the LSBA shall request from the Louisiana Supreme Court or its  agencies
                                 waivers of these obligations.

                   I.     Insurance Coverages

                          It is the policy of the Louisiana State Bar Association to maintain the following
                          insurance coverages:
                          1.     Auto/Hired Car
                          2.     Directors and Officers Liability Coverage
                          3.     Employee Dishonesty – Fidelity Bond
                          4.     ERISA Bond
                          5.     General Liability Coverage
                          6.     Professional Liability (for Practice Assistance lawyers)
                          7.     Workers Compensation

                   J.     Legislative Activities
                          The Association’s policies and procedures with regard to legislative activities may be
                          found in Article IX of the Bylaws of the Louisiana State Bar Association.

                          The Legislation Committee’s activities with respect to recommending consideration or
                          adoption of a legislative position by the Association may include matters involving issues
                          affecting the profession, the regulation  of attorneys and  the practice of law, the
                          administration of justice, the availability and delivery of legal services to society, the
                          improvement of the courts and the legal profession, and such other matters consistent with
                          the mission and purposes of the Association. The Committee shall not involve itself in
                          legislation which is ideological in nature, unrelated to the practice of law, or which is
                          unnecessarily divisive.

                          Recommendations from the Legislation Committee concerning consideration or
                          adoption of a position on pending or proposed legislation shall be presented to the
                          Board of Governors in accordance procedures set forth in the Bylaws.

                   K.     Listservs
                          The  Louisiana  State Bar Association  may  provide listservs  or other electronic
                          communication tools to facilitate communication between members of its committees
                          and sections. All such tools for use by these entities shall be administered only by the
                          Association and shall be used only for the discussion of related LSBA issues or other
                          legal-related discussions.  Membership in these lists shall be limited to members of the
                          respective sections and committees, LSBA leaders, and appropriate LSBA staff
                          liaisons.
