Sexual harassment is a practice that demeans the individual being treated in such a
manner. Consequently, the Louisiana State Bar Association will not tolerate sexual
harassment of its applicants, employees, or volunteers by anyone. Louisiana State Bar
Association will, as necessary, take disciplinary action, up to and including termination,
in accordance with this policy to ensure that we meet our responsibilities to our
employees.
The responsibility for the execution and administration of this policy is assigned to the
Executive Director. Each employee is accountable for acting in compliance with and
support of the policy. Every employee is encouraged to discuss any violations of this
policy in confidentiality with the Executive Director without fear of any reprisals.
Employees may also bring such violations to the attention of their immediate
supervisor.
S. Sponsorships
It is the policy of the Louisiana State Bar Association to consider and accept revenue
enhancement through outside funding, underwriting and in-kind contributions of
products or services in an effort to offer high quality services, products and programs
at the lower reasonable cost to the lawyers of the State of Louisiana.
The Louisiana State Bar Association shall only accept sponsorships that significantly
advance its purposes and one or more of its goals or objectives, or otherwise provide
identifiable benefits to the Louisiana State Bar Association, its members and/or the
general public in furtherance of the Louisiana State Bar Association’s purposes and/or
goals.
In considering sponsorships, the Louisiana State Bar Association will exercise its
discretion in a manner that maintains and promotes its good reputation and high
standing as a representative of the legal profession in Louisiana.
For purposes of this policy, the following definitions shall apply:
Sponsored Activity is any Louisiana State Bar Association event, program, seminar,
CLE event, meeting, conference, or publication (electronic or print).
Sponsorship is the outside funding, underwriting, or in-kind contribution of goods or
services for a Sponsored Activity.
The following approval criteria shall apply:
1. The Sponsorship must not conflict with the mission, goals, general purposes or
established policies of the Louisiana State Bar Association.
2. The Louisiana State Bar Association shall not enter any Sponsorship
arrangement that in any way conflicts or may be reasonably perceived as
conflicting with the reputation and standing of the Louisiana State Bar
Association as a representative of the legal profession in Louisiana.
