▪ Releasing new one hour ethics CLE on Limited Scope
Representation - a tool to increase access to affordable
legal services presented by Alainna Mire, Richard
Lemmler, and Hon. Lisa Woodruff-White.
o Update “Becoming an Adult” website
The Children’s Law Committee continues to work on updating
the “Becoming an Adult” guide and website. Plans are
underway to utilize a QR code that will direct users to the
website, rather than printing copies of the guide.
▪ Promote unmet statewide legal needs report recommendations;
Authored Bar Journal article featuring unmet statewide legal needs
report’s recommendations and Economic Impact Study results.
Presented unmet statewide legal needs report findings at the annual
Louisiana Justice Community Conference, October 2019. Findings will
be used in communication planning for the next phase of the JFA
process.
▪ Continue to administer the Legal Innovators for Tomorrow (LIFT)
Program which targets new attorneys interested in focusing a practice
on unmet legal needs;
o Address domestic violence, disaster and expungement legal
needs
o Launched Flood Proof program to increase access to legal
representation for people affected by the 2016 flooding in Baton
Rouge. Program now in its third year with funding for a third
cohort of participating attorneys. Inaugural class graduated
December 2020 dedicating 600 pro bono hours.
▪ Domestic Violence Project now working with its 5 class

▪ Two new Business Strategy Workshops took place in
December for participants and alums of LIFT. Training
was recorded.
o Match interested attorneys with providers to address unmet
legal needs
o LIFT in its 7th year has worked with 35 attorneys, matching
attorneys with civil legal aid service providers focusing on
various practice areas including: family law, expungements,
housing, successions, and re-entry related legal needs.
▪ Develop and implement a pilot conflict resolution program located
where other resources are not readily available;
A pilot mediation program requiring a partnership between legal aid
