One final subject worthy of note regarding Judge Darensburg is her impressive list
of former judicial clerks. Judge Darensburg has made it a practice since taking office of
not keeping clerks on a permanent basis. While her approach may equate to more work
for her in between clerks, she is more concerned with cultivating the future of the legal
profession by giving worthy individuals the opportunity to work and learn as her judicial
clerk. Her approach has paid off already for many who have moved on to have successful
legal careers. As I’m sure you will agree, mentoring others in our profession is an essential
ingredient to strengthening our future as lawyers. Judge Darensburg is a huge part of
that effort in Jefferson Parish.
