RE: Nomination for 2023 Catherine D. Kimball Award

Dear Committee Members:

I nominate and highly recommend Judge June Darensburg of the 24 Judicial District Court for
the Parish of Jefferson for the 2023 Catherine D. Kimball Award. I have practiced law for 29
years and Judge Darensburg is in my opinion among the very best judges in the state. She is the
most even tempered, fairest, unbiased, unprejudicial, impartial, patient, diligent, dedicated,
professional and intelligent judge that I have practiced before. She and her staff respect all
litigants and attorneys and maintain a dignified and respectful decorum in her courtroom. Judge
Darensburg rarely takes a case under advisement and almost always prepares and signs her
judgment before the attorneys and litigants leave the courthouse. She frequently volunteers in
the community, presents at Continuing Legal Education events, and volunteers as an Intensive
Probation Drug Court Judge. Judge Darensburg makes us attorneys proud that we are in the legal
profession. Please consider Judge June Darensburg for the 2023 Catherine D. Kimball Award.
