To date, there have not been any articles that were relevant to share
with local press.
■ The State Bar promotes public understanding of the law, the legal system,
and the contribution of lawyers to society to garner public recognition for
lawyers’ good works and the importance of the Rule of Law.
▪ Utilize social media to promote the good works of Louisiana Lawyers;
o In August, the LSBA promoted two Lake Charles law firms for
providing back to school supplies to local residents.
o Wills for Heroes events held by the YLD are posted on all LSBA
social media accounts.
o Louisiana lawyers are continually recognized on LSBA social
media accounts, particularly Instagram, for awards received,
pro bono highlights, community involvement, etc.
o Photos of participants in the virtual “Lawyers in Libraries” week
were posted on social media.
o Honorees of non-LSBA awards were featured on social media,
including winners of the National Bar Association Women
Lawyers Division Awards and Louisiana Bar Foundation
Honorees.
o Members of the Leadership LSBA Class were pictured
delivering care packages to hospitals and healthcare workers
across the state at the start of the pandemic.
o Graphics and articles were posted in April 2020 in support of
ABA Day and explaining how the work of legal service
organizations benefits the public.
o The Bar’s Twitter account regularly interacts with the tweets of
members, organizations and law firms announcing
accomplishments.
o Wills for Heroes events held by the YLD are posted on all LSBA
social media accounts. Due to COVID, WFH events not taken
place since March 2020.
o Photos of Judge Scott Schlegel and his ABA Journal cover
were posted on social media when he was named a 2021 Legal
Rebel for his innovations to court technology.
o Photos of President Mire and the Louisiana Supreme Court
justices were posted on social media from their Black History
Month initiatives.
o Photos from the virtual 2021 High School Mock Trial
Competition of participants and lawyer and judge volunteers
were posted to social media.
o The April/May 2021 issue of the Louisiana Bar Journal, whose
cover story focuses on how lawyers are responding to access
