Modest Means Directory views continue to increase month-to-month and in year-to-year
comparison

The number of Modest Means Directory views continues to increase with the total number of
views since the launch of the program in April 2018 at 6,400. The number of applications to
view the Directory in the first quarter of 2021 increased 18% over 2020. The top 10 parishes
with the highest number of Directory views are listed below with the number of attorneys
currently offering reduced-cost legal services in those parishes.

Additionally, the Modest Means Committee has completed a first draft of the Limited Scope
Representation Toolkit to help attorneys increase access by providing unbundled legal services
to low- and moderate-income families and as part of the Justice For All project. It will be
released along with a pre-recorded webinar for CLE credit available to those who join the

Technology Committee hosts
Amanda Brown, chair
Amanda Brown reported that the Technology Committee is coordinating with ALSC and SLLS
to gather content and build modules for Statewide Learning Management System. Both firms
will share the same substantive law materials to ensure that training is uniform across the state.
This is expected to be a multiyear project, with onboarding materials completed within first
half of this year.
