The Louisiana Center for Law and Civic Education (LCLCE) is pleased to provide you
BOARD OF DIRECTORS and the Louisiana State Bar Association’s (LSBA) Board of Governors with a report on
the activities of the LCLCE. As set forth below, the LCLCE continues to promote and

support educational programming in support of the rule of law in a variety of ways.

Since our last report, the LCLCE conducted an eight-hour professional development

program in Baton Rouge. This is part of the We the People: Civics that Empowers All
HON. SYLVIA R. COOKS Students (CEAS) program. The LCLCE was granted a subaward for this program by
HON. SCOTT J. CRICHTON the Center for Civic Education, the CEAS administrator for the U. S. Department of
Education. A third follow-up training will be held in May 2024 at the World War II
BRIAN ENGERON Museum in New Orleans. The participants are all teachers that attended the 2023
ALLISON C. FOSTER Summer Institute. Each one of these teachers will have their students conduct a
simulated congressional hearing before the end of the school year.

HON. C. WENDELL MANNING their recommendation for the 2024-25 LCLCE presidency at the January 19, 2024
Board Meeting. This meeting will be held during the LSBA’s MidYear Meeting in
