The Generic Structures of Report Text?
1. General classification. Contains general statements that
describe the subject of the text.
2. Description, it describes the phenomenon or situation that
occurs, both its parts, nature, habits, or behavior. In essence,
it describes the classification presented scientifically
Similarities:
1. Both report text and descriptive text aims to provide detailed
information about a subject. They focus on describing
characteristics, features, or aspects of the subject matter.
2. Both report text and descriptive text aims to convey
information as clearly and accurately as possible.
3. Both report text and descriptive text often use objective
language to present information without personal bias.
Differences:
Report text is organized and full of facts to explain something,
while descriptive text use lots of details to create a clear picture
in readers’ mind.
Language Features:
1. Uses simple present tense, marked by the use of “is/am/are.”
It also uses Verb 1 (base form of the verb).
2. Uses action verbs, such as: travel, defend, live, etc.
3. Uses general nouns, for example: the northern hemisphere,
the beaches, etc.
4. Uses technical terms, such as: migrate, pup, herds, etc.
